Our Mission:
A letter from our co-founder
I would like to take this opportunity to introduce myself and our non-profit organization
dedicated to helping families with autism and disabilities. We are a Colorado
organization that was founded on the knowledge gained from the struggle to find
services for my business partner's grandson with autism.

Our mission to provide a future for one child with Autism expanded to one that would
change the lives of hundreds.  Stomp Out the Silence of Autism and Disabilities began
to provide real life training skills to children and adults. We are expanding to include
day care assistance, respite, assisted living facilities, resource centers, scholarship
funds, summer camp options and a wide variety of therapies by collaborating with
other organizations with similar goals.

We are now in the process of opening Hawkeye Ranch, an assisted living facility for
young adults with an IQ over 70.  Currently, state and federal funding providing
assistance to the families of children with autism ends when that child turns 21,
leaving the family to shoulder the entire financial burden of providing care for the
autistic adult for his/her entire life, creating a crisis situation for many families.

SOS-AD is pleased to present Hawkeye Ranch, the
first Assisted Living Facility for
autistic adults with an IQ over 70 in the State of Colorado, and one of only a handful
nationwide specializing in the care of people with autism. The SOS-AD Assisted Living
Facility is s a 7,500 square foot living facility, surrounded by nature and safety, on a
serene 48 acre valley with views of the Front Range.

The vision of the facility is to provide a community center that can house autism
spectrum assisted living, day-camps, knowledge centers, family respite, and updated
therapies.  The facility will be staffed with highly qualified and trained professionals,
who will provide exceptional life skill therapies and valuable services, including but not
limited to life and Social Skill Instructions, Behavioral Therapy and a wide variety of Job
Skills Training Therapies.

Funds raised to support this program will go directly into ‘growing the people’ as we
expand and provide benefits to people nationwide, and change the future for those
with autism.  We are available to meet with you and look forward to showing you how
we are changing the world of disABILITIES – one life at a time.

Respectfully,

Gregg Whelen
Co-founder, President, and Director of Hawkeye Ranch
