The Write Story program was created to expand the imagination of children while
teaching them to write and draw a complete story of their own! Using all species of
penguins to teach children about the differences and similarities in all of us, the Write
Story then inspires children through the creation of their very own penguin characters.
Combining art, literacy and disability awareness, the Write Story has everything it
takes to engage a child's creativity and help them grow.
The Write Story began when Rhonda Spellman, the accomplished teacher,
professional speaker, and author of "In Search of a Better Truth," joined forces with
the non-profit The Hawkeye Ranch Center for Autism. It was a magic combination that
spurred the creation of a disability awareness program that combined the creative
arts with social awareness.
